24 Hours In Waco | Fun Things To Do In Waco TX Beyond Magnolia Market

Waco, Texas is a hidden gem of a city in the central area of the Lone Star State, Previously overlooked, recent popularity brought on by the HGTV show, Fixer Upper, has made Waco into a vacation destination. From shopping to eating and everything in between, here’s some fun things to do in 24 hours in Waco, TX.

Fun Things To Do In Waco TX Beyond Magnolia Market

Your first stop should be at Jack and Jill’s Donuts! Located in the very heart of Waco, Jack and Jill’s is a breakfast staple for citizens of the town. Traditional chocolate, glazed or sprinkled donuts are a simple but sweet treat, or go for a delicious kolache or breakfast sandwich!

If you’re not a big fan of breakfast, no worries! Make a stop at one of the many authentic Mexican cuisine destinations in Waco. My favorite is El Taquito, located just a short drive west of Waco in McGregor. Order the enchoburro, you will be glad you did!

After breakfast and lunch, make your way over to the Cameron Park Zoo. The best zoo in Central Texas! The Cameron Park Zoo was founded in 1993. Situated on 52 acres of land along the Brazos River. Here you can find a wild mass of things to do and see – there’s even a playground! This zoo has it all, including exhibits of giraffes and lions, orangutans, black bears, Galapagos tortoises, otters, bats, and even komodo dragons! Plus, it’s educational and a fun adventure to explore.

Next, it’s time for dinner. Diamondback’s is Waco’s finest steakhouse. But that’s not all – they serve everything from steak to seafood to sushi and everything in between! Enjoy half off any bottle of wine when you dine at Diamondback’s on Tuesday. And even if you’re not feeling dinner, check out their generous happy hour offerings.

The last stop on your trip is Waco’s crowning achievement, the Magnolia Silos. Founded by HGTV’s Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, this shopping and dining destination draws in hundreds of tourists everyday. Whether you’re stopping by for a bite to eat at Magnolia Table, to find a fresh piece of home decor at The Silos, or to pick up a copy of Chip’s book Capital Gaines. One thing’s for certain — there’s always a seat at the table for you at the Magnolia Silos!
