San Antonio Riverwalk Couples Getaway

Located south of Austin, or east of Houston, a San Antonio Riverwalk Couples Getaway is the perfect location to rest, relax, and reconnect with that special person in your life. Beautiful weather, delicious food and drinks with Tex-mex flair, and history abounds. San Antonio Riverwalk Couples Getaway should be on your short list as a perfect couples travel destination.

San Antonio Riverwalk remains one of my favorite destinations to visit in Texas simply because you can drop your vehicle off with the hotel valet, and walk to your desired destination on the Riverwalk without needing to drive anywhere. We all know how difficult   parking can be when downtown in a large city.  When you need to take a rest from walking, there is plenty of seating along The Riverwalk to cool down and catch your breath.

Boudro’s. – On The Riverwalk Level, 421 E Commerce St, San Antonio, TX 78205
With patio seating right on the Riverwalk, you can watch the riverboats float on by while you enjoy a cocktail. While at Boudro’s, order the guacamole prepared table side with tortilla chips. The flavors of the freshly made guacamole are so vibrant and tasty on a warm Texas day. Pair your chips and guac with a prickly pear margarita!

These colossal size doughnuts will satisfy even the toughest sweet tooth cravings.  Choose from blueberry lemon fritters (a seasonal offering), bacon maple bar, Oh captain, My Captain – a raid yeast doughnut with vanilla frosting topped with Captain Crunch cereal, and my personal favorite – Peanut cake – a vanilla cake doughnut topped with chocolate frosting and chopped peanuts.
Pro Tip – Order online, so you can walk up to get your sweet treat without any wait!

Best San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel
Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk – 123 Losoya St, San Antonio, TX 78205
This hotel features newly-renovated guest rooms, a luxury feel while in the center of the Riverwalk surrounded by entertainment, restaurants, and all the top historic sites within walking distance.  The lower level of The Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk has direct walk out access to restaurant row on the Riverwalk!

Parking can be challenging at most resorts on the Riverwalk. If you have large truck, keep in mind your vehicle will likely not fit in most hotel parking garages due to low height clearance. Therefore, you will need to find an open parking lot. I was able to locate an open parking lot a block away that only charged $25 for overnight parking!
