Is Saltine Cracker Toffee Really That Easy To Make?
I’m sure you’ve seen numerous videos on Facebook circulating about “Christmas Crack”. The salty sweet combo looks absolutely delicious. With just four ingredients, and three simple steps… saltine cracker toffee is perfection.
Saltine Cracker Toffee Ingredients
2 sleeves saltine crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1o oz. package dark chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts – Chopped
Cracker Toffee Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a cookie sheets with foil.
Place crackers in a single layer to line the cookie sheet.
How Do You Make Toffee?
In a pan on medium heat, mix butter and brown sugar until smooth and boiling.
Then, pour butter and brown sugar mixture over the crackers on the cookie sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes until toffee on crackers is bubbling.
Remove cookie sheet from oven. Immediately spread chocolate tips on top until smooth.
Refrigerate for 20 minutes until toffee and chocolate is chilled.
Remove from fridge and break crackers into pieces. Enjoy!
Store saltine cracker toffee in airtight container.
Tips For Making Christmas Crack
Make sure to use a baking pan with side to prevent the toffee mixture from running off the sides. I prefer walnuts as a topping. Cashews, almonds, peanuts, and pistachios are great options as well. Feel free to utilize your preferred favorite nut. If you really like to spice things up use candied or spiced nuts.
