As you walk through the lobby at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress over the wooden planks towards Hemingway’s, you are transported to a tropical paradise! Hotel visitors and locals flock to this restaurant in Orlando for superior quality and service! The floor to ceiling windows look out over a lush garden full of flowers, while tropical plants and exotic palm trees create a beautiful ambiance for our fine dining experience!
Our meal started with Hemingway’s signature bread. Fluffy and light in the center with the perfect amount of buttery crust. I had to stop myself from having a second piece of bread. I didn’t want to fill up on bread before our main course arrived. The task was difficult but I managed! Our attentive server quickly brought my salad. Hemingway’s Key Wester Salad is an elevated version of the standard pre-dinner offering. Choice lettuce with crispy applewood smoked bacon with capicola, avocado tossed in a blue cheese dressing accompanied with a few green olives topped with parmesan cheese! Absolutely delicious!
My kids were able to sample the delicious new signature kids menu. I appreciated the diverse offerings available including calamari with roasted tomato coulis, grilled salmon with butter lettuce and corn salsa, grilled chicken breast with saffron rice and chorizo sauce, and popcorn shrimp with remoulade and french fried potatoes! Delicious fresh ingredients used to create a fine dining experience for my kids while traveling. It’s so nice to find more than just your standard fare of chicken tenders and burgers that most restaurants offer for kids!
After traveling extensively this year up and down the eastern coast, I can confidently say Hemingway’s has THE BEST carb cakes I’ve ever tasted. The crab is succulent and sweet with the perfect ratio of big chunks of crab in the crab cake. Hemingway’s “Cayo Hueso” Crab Cakes is served with sweet corn coconut grits, corn salsa and steamed asparagus! The Grilled Filet of Beef is a sous vide style filet mignon with shiitake mushroom mojo, along with fingerling potatoes, glazed carrots, bordelaise sauce and bacon marmalade. My cut of beef was divine, juicy, and melted in my mouth!
A meal at Hemingway’s isn’t complete without dessert. Prepared to be wowed and satisfy your sweet tooth with Hemingway’s signature Alaskan style Key Lime Pie, Creme Brûlée, chocolate peanut butter cake, and a double chocolate torte! Dessert at Hemingway’s is indulgent and decadent just like it should be!
