Several bloggers and I were invited to tour Treehouse and have a meet & greet with one of the founders. Treehouse is located about 90 miles south of rocket world (A.K.A ~ McGregor, TX) in Austin, TX! Austin is one of my favorite cities in the entire US! Every time I visit… I find a hidden gem! You know ~ a store like no other you’ve every been in before! First Whole Foods now Treehouse! I will be making many trips to Austin in my future! Treehouse is the place to shop in Austin for all of your eco-friendly home improvement needs! I was amazed at the variety of all natural products carried. You can purchase organic planting seeds for local crops, a rain barrel, sustainable low VOC flooring and everything in between! The store environment is very inviting and the staff is so sweet! Throughout the store you will find informative signs to help you make an educated decision on which home improvement products would fit best with your individual budget and long term housing plans!
Treehouse evaluates every items in the store based on four main principles! Health, performance, sustainability, and corporate responsibility!
Treehouse wants to help you live better. All products featured take into consideration savings, health, and ecology! The founders of Treehouse will not sell you anything they wouldn’t use in their own homes! If you want to make the first step towards an efficient, all natural home you should invest in two items! The first is a Nest Thermostat and switch to LED lightbulbs! LED lightbulbs are the wave of the future! They will cost more upfront but most come with a warranty and will save you in the long run. Don’t want to break the bank replacing all of the light bulbs with LED bulbs? Simply swap them out one at a time as the incandescent bulbs burn out!
One of my most favorite lines of the night was ” Yeah our paint costs a little more than the cheapest at XXXX but ours won’t be pealing off your walls in 18 months! Cheap isn’t always good. You want to find the best quality for your money! Treehouse carries several different brands at different price points to fit everyone’s budget without sacrificing quality! If your a Jeff Lewis fan like myself, you can find Jeff Lewis Paints in a variety of hues at Treehouse!
Everyone I talk to lately is either in the process of building a chicken coop or already has chickens for fresh eggs! I would like to get a couple of chickens! The kids are all for it but Mr. Green isn’t onboard yet! If you are luckier than me and already have a few chickens of your own! Treehouse carries bulk organic chicken feed!
A kitchen is the heart of the home! Treehouse has a plethora of options to customize the kitchen of your dreams! Treehouse employees two full time designers to help you selected the products to make your kitchen functional and beautiful. This was my favorite out of several floor displays. I love the dark cabinets, backsplash and counters! All products are sustainable and eco-friendly!
I had a blast touring Treehouse with several other crafty, DIY bloggers! Treehouse is an oasis of all natural products to ensure your home is safe and efficient from the ground up! Treehouse is located in the Westgate Shopping Center at 4477 S. Lamar Blvd, Ste 600 in Austin if you want to plan a visit to the store!
