My family stayed at Salt Fork Lodge decorated in outdoorsy, rustic decor. All furniture in the rooms are purchased from the finest craftsmen from Amish Country in Ohio. I love to support businesses who source products and support local tradesmen!
The lodge highly impressed me with accommodation options for larger families. With four children, we often have to book multiple rooms so the kids have their own space, and we as parents have our space to relax and unwind. At Salt Fork Lodge you can book a room with one king size bed connected to another room which has sleeping space for six! The connecting room has two full size beds along with bunk beds built into the wall. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the extra bathroom was essential, and the view from our two balconies were impressive. I woke up early to watch the sunrise while enjoying a cup of coffee. The stunning view was one of my favorites while traveling in Ohio!
While enjoying a delicious picnic prepared by the chef at the lodge, we had many visitors including deer! My kids were so excited to see them up so close, I was afraid their giggles might scare the animals!
Desire alone time sans children to reconnect with friends or a loved one? The lodge has you covered! Visit Wildlife Lounge to enjoy a game of pool or watch a ball game while enjoying local beer and wine!
Ohio weather can be unpredictable but don’t you fret! The lodge has an indoor pool and hot tub in addition to the beautiful outdoor pool!
My New York strip steak was grilled to perfect! Timber Restaurant offers many options for entrees including seafood, vegetarian, sandwiches, and burgers. The portions for side dishes are HUGE, plenty of food is served to share with two or three diners! Finish off your meal with the lodges signature dessert! A cream cheese stuff pretzel topped with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with drizzled with chocolate sauce on top! Oh so yummy!
