Full Disclosure: I was provided with a complimentary 2 night stay at the Royal Sonesta. All opinions are my own!
A few years back, I started blogging as a way to connect with others after moving to “rocket world” a.k.a middle of nowhere Texas! The connections I’ve made with fellow bloggers and you… my readers is priceless.
Gathering in real life takes the friendship to another level. When the offer to attend the blogger holiday party in Houston to benefit Star of Hope – a Houston charity working to help homeless men, women, and children. I jumped at the chance to attend!
Royal Sonesta Hotel was so generous to offer accommodations for the weekend to a few bloggers. As well a host a cocktail party for the annual Houston blogger holiday party!
Royal Sonesta Houston recently under went a 25 million dollar renovation. The opulence was obvious , once I stepped into the lobby. This chandelier was absolutely gorgeous! After our three hour drive to Houston, I was eager to get to our room to relax. Check-in was a breeze, the staff was friendly and eager to assist! Valet and self-parking is available and plentiful!
Our room was spacious with a king size bed, and sitting area. Each room has it’s own unique decor making this modern boutique hotel feel more like home, than just a plain jane hotel.
Royal Sonesta thought of all the small details in re-design including dispensers right in the shower!
After getting a night’s rest, we explored the area around Royal Sonesta. Located close by is an assortment of fabulous restaurants, a Starbucks that I had to stop at, and The Galleria, where you can find all of the stores your heart desires to shop the day away! They even have an ice skating rink inside!
We hurried back to the hotel to get ready for the cocktail party, hosted by Royal Sonesta, in the lounge! The food served was exquisite and you know how picky I can be!
Braised short rib, steak crostini, shrimp with aoili, and bacon popcorn. We ate to our hearts content, chatted with friends and enjoyed each others company!
Each blogger in attendance brought donations for Star of Hope! Plus, we collected enough money to provide meals for 75 people! To see the generosity of my friends was amazing. This is a weekend I will never forget! I’m so grateful to Royal Sonesta for hosting my family and fellow bloggers! I can’t wait until we can return for another visit!
