Organic nut butters are intriguing to me. One of the first organic foods I sought out when I visited Whole Foods for the first time. I wanted healthy and organic food but I didn’t want to sacrifice taste. And, honestly my kids eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches daily in our house. It’s their saving grace. I’ve tried to find other options for lunches. Bento boxes are cute but nobody has time for that. Plus…pb&j is their favorite! And you shouldn’t mess with perfection!
We decided to do a little taste test to prove my point. Healthy and organic can and does taste better than mainstream foods. The kids and I each got a spoonful to sample the organic nut butters.
“Momma this tastes so NUTTY and CREAMY too!”
Case closed! Seriously though…. organic nut butters are packed with flavor because the only ingredients are roasted nuts! No fillers, sweeteners, or artificial flavors. This lets the true flavor of the nuts shine through to delight your taste buds!
Pb&j are a staple for kids. Other great ways to incorporate organic nut butters into snacks and meals is to include in baked goods. A few favorites are buckeyes, brownies, and peanut butter cookies. More healthy options include apples slices dipped in organic nut butters, nut butter spread on celery, and as part of a protein smoothie! Honestly the options are endless!
My favorite is Once Again Almond butter. The grainy texture is a perfect consistency to swirl in greek yogurt. Once Again peanut butter is thick but creamy. And not overly sweet! This nut butter requires no stirring prior to serving!
