Halloween is a fun night to get dressed up in costume, eat some sweets, and enjoy a fun evening with friends and family. When our kids were little, we lived in the country where houses were miles apart. Going door to door trick-or-treating just wasn’t an option. To celebrate Halloween in a safe way, we decided to host our very own Halloween Movie Night! We set up trick-or-treat stations around the house, made Halloween themed snacks, and then enjoyed a spooky(age-appropriate) movie. It’s a tradition we started many years ago, that our kids still enjoy today as tweens and teens!
This year our Halloween Movie Night is a little bit easier thanks to Movies Anywhere!

Movies Anywhere is very user friendly allowing you to preview the movie trailer while in the app or on the website. Want to watch a movie but don’t have time to finish it? Have trick-or-treaters knocking on your door? No worries. Simply stop the movie or close the app. When you’re ready to watch agin, simply click on “your movie” to continue watching where you left off. Even better you can do this with multiple movies, if you like to watch more than one movie at a time. While watching you also have the option to completely start the movie over, plus rewind or fast forward to watch scenes you would like to view again. You are in control with Movies Anywhere! You can also choose to view in English or Spanish, which is absolutely amazing for those of you who are bi-lingual!
For our Halloween movie night, we are watching “Life”:
“Astronauts (Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds) aboard the International Space Station are on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As members of the crew conduct their research, the rapidly evolving life-form proves far more intelligent and terrifying than anyone could have imagined.”
As most of you know, my husband works on rockets. So “Life” is a movie our entire family is interested in. It’s always intriguing to explore the opportunity for life on Mars! Our family decided to run with the space theme for this years Jalloween Movie Night in!
