Kids Fit Menu created in partnership by Medical City Children’s Hospital & The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association is a great way to help children incorporate more fruits and veggies into their daily diet. Knowledge is power and when presenting our children with healthy choices for food options we can inspire them to make better choices.
Medical City Children’s Hospital and the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association (GRDA) have partnered with Texas ProStart culinary programs in high schools across North Texas to develop Kids Fit Menus. Local restaurants will now feature the Kids Fit Menu with meals including 2 servings of fruits and/or vegetables.
With obesity rates soaring, it so important to be mindful of our food choices at home and when dining out at restaurants. When my kids were little, I would frequently order adult meals for them to split because the only offerings on the kids menu were cheeseburgers or fried food. The addition of the Kids Fit Menu at local restaurants provides many options to include fresh, wholesome ingredients in every meal, even when dining out. Entrees on the Kids Fit Menu feature flavors kids know and love along with sides that are tasty and delicious. Why choose french fries when you can have yellow squash and zucchini bites steamed on the grill and mandarin oranges with cinnamon sprinkled on top?
